CNC Programmer / Machinist

Skillcraft Machine Tool Company, Inc. seeks a CNC Programmer/Machinist to assist upper management with meeting the goals of the company in a dynamic, action-oriented, continuous improvement atmosphere. This is a full-time, hourly position with a competitive a wage based on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Program, set up, and operate (1) or more CNC machining centers to produce small to medium size lots of parts and assemblies
  • Use blueprints to ensure proper dimensions and tolerance levels for finished product
  • Design, fabricate, and utilize fixtures as necessary to machine the work piece
  • Work with the production team to complete complex projects in an efficient manner
  • Maintain a clean and organized work center

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC machining centers
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Ability to use inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) as needed
  • Ability to hold tight tolerances
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
  • HURCO and/or Mastercam experience a plus

Inspector

1/2/2024

Ensure product conformity by employing sound inspection techniques. Utilizes inspection equipment to perform layout inspection of machined parts to customer supplied blueprints. This position serves in our Quality department, and reports to the Quality Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Uses surface plate, height gage, and hand tools to perform in-process inspection of manufactured parts and assemblies at various stages of operations
  • Incoming inspection of parts from vendors
  • Support efforts to maintain ISO:9001 compliance
  • Assist Management, Machinists, and vendors with quality concerns.
  • All other reasonable duties, as required

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in layout and manual inspection methods
  • Experience in a Job Shop/ Tooling environment a plus
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of quality inspection techniques and requirements
  • Thorough understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Competent in the operation of standard inspection equipment
  • CMM experience with PCDMIS is a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and through email
  • Comfortable multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
